J.D. Oswald lives and works in Hampshire, England. Henrietta Street is her first novel.

Her interest in portrait miniatures was first sparked in 2005, when she purchased a book on the subject from the Victoria & Albert Museum shop. Inspired to carry out further research, the story of Henrietta Street gradually emerged.

Her next novel is the first in a series of historical crime novels, set in the aftermath of the First World War.
